These are a few of my favorites that I’ve visited recently! Keep reading because I have you covered for every meal!
Breakfast/Brunch
Batter N Berries | Breakfast- Lunch- Brunch – Home of the World Famous French Toast Flight (batterandberries.com)
You must try Batter N Berries! It is located right off of N Lincoln Ave. There are way too many delicious items on the menu to recommend, but let’s start with the french toasts! They have to be top 5 best french toasts I’ve ever tasted. They have strawberry, blueberry, lemon, and caramel.
Ooh, and if you can’t decide which one you'd like the most, just try the french toast flight, which offers one of each! OMG!
The last time I visited here was peak time during the pandemic — My family was visiting town, so we placed a huge takeout order and had a family picnic at Navy Pier. Talk about a time well spent!
Lunch
Jerk 48 | Home - Jerk 48
Jerk 48 is one of those places you go only a couple of times, but you can always remember the flavor it leaves in your mouth. I would definitely call ahead to place this order because there can be long waits! My favorite item on the menu is the cajun shrimp and jerk chicken pasta, and I can assure you it doesn’t disappoint!
Dinner/Cocktails
Kitchen + Kocktails | Home - Kitchen + Kocktails Chicago
This is a fairly new restaurant that offers a variety from chicken and waffles to seafood cajun pasta! I visited Kitchen + Kocktails with friends in February to enjoy a Galentine’s night out. The moment we stepped into the restaurant we were directed to our seats (I definitely recommend making a reservation before), which I appreciated because it was very busy. Ensure you’re ready to show ID and proof of vaccination.
We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and I had the beef and potatoes on a vegetable mix consisting of brussel sprouts, carrots, onions, and broccoli which tasted amazing. My gal friend had the cajun pasta which was topped with a fried crab leg.
They also have a great playlist and bar seating is also available. The entire restaurant is so chic and upbeat! This place makes for the perfect girls’ night or date night out. So you know, there is a 20% gratuity added to every bill.
Afterward, we visited a bar minutes away in River North and danced our night away!
Bakery/Coffee Shop
TeaPotBrew Bakery
TeaPotBrew Bakery - This is a small bakery and coffee shop downtown on the corner of South Wabash Ave and East 18th St. The yummy baked goods are baked fresh daily and any leftovers are donated at the end of the day to a local shelter.
Be sure to try the spinach & tomato quiche and hazelnut latte!
Be sure to tag me on Instagram or Tiktok if you visit any of the restaurants above! I'd love to see what you ordered and hear how you liked it!
